The weekend is almost here! But first, some Friday events, from the WSB West Seattle Events Calendarinbox and archives:

PUGET SOUND LOCAL WIRE TOUR: Special events continue at Son of Seattle (5633 California SW), open until 8 p.m. on day three of the regional tour.

SPORTS: Post-season games today/tonight in softball at Nino Cantu Southwest Sports Complex (2801 SW Thistle), starting at 1:30 p.m. matches: Chief Sealth IHS against Eastside Catholic and West Seattle HS against Garfield. The results of those matches will determine who they face in the 5:30 p.m. matches – check out the schedule/scoreboard here. … Also at NCSWAC this afternoon/evening, track and field finals.

BIG BAND DANCE DINNER: Thai food and music from both West Seattle High School musicians and famous West Seattle Big Bandstarting at 6 p.m. at WSHS (3000 California SW) – ticket information is in our calendar listing.

SHOWCASE OF Authors-composers: Monthly showcase at C&P Coffee (5612 California SW; sponsor WSB), 7 p.m. All ages, no coverage.

FRIDAY THE 13TH LIVE MUSIC: The Almost Faithful, Kalimocho Boysand Obol to The Lark (3803 Delridge Way SW), doors at 7am, music at 8am. $10, 21+.

‘ALMA’: Friday Night Theatre! The new play at ArtsWest (4711 California SW) continues its run with a performance at 7:30 p.m. tonight – buy your ticket(s) here.
