The hot cheeto salad is my new favorite thing

Hot Cheetos have become a staple in my house, along with milk and bread. If you’ve got teenagers, I’m sure you’ve had your fair share of requests for these hot, crunchy snacks which (to my surprise) have become surprisingly addicting to me.

I’ve always loved regular Cheetos and back in the ’80s when I was growing up having Cheetos every now and then was a treat – and trust me, I can pull off a bag in under ten minutes. It’s a skill you learn when you grow up with three siblings whose parents live on one income and a very tight budget. “If you hesitate, you’re hungry” was my motto and as a child I learned to eat quickly.

Anyway, I love my Cheetos but I’m not a big fan of hot stuff. So when I took my first bite of a Hot Cheeto, I didn’t like it. Then I did. Like, within three seconds. Then I liked it even more. Then before I knew it, I had Hot Cheeto dust flying around my body like a Pig-Pen because I reverted to the version of my eight year old self that had found a snack and wanted it to disappear before having to share it.

If my kids are having a sleepover, I need to make sure we have Hot Cheetos. If it’s the weekend, I have to make sure we have Hot Cheetos. If they know I’m going to the store, they should be sure to tell me to buy the Hot Cheetos. You got the idea.

I love these flaming babies dipped in sour cream, my kids love them with a fruity, gummy candy side, and we all love them with pickles.

When I saw a Hot Cheeto salad recipe I thought it was a bit classier than my typical fist full of hot cheese puffs dipped in a pot of sour cream so I thought I would give it a try. .

The recipe went viral on TikTok and there are a few variations, but I decided to keep it simple and just had the cut cucumber, cilantro, and crushed Cheetos. No hot sauce for me, thank you very much. However, if you and your asshole are brave, give it a try.

For me, it was love at first sight. Cucumber and cilantro are so good and refreshing on their own. Hot Cheetos give this salad the crunch and substance it needs. It’s a bit like adding cheese to your salad with something crunchy, only better. (My God, I should be a restaurant critic.)

My daughter tried a bite to eat after telling me she didn’t think it would be good. She was wrong and ended up loving it, and ate the whole bowl so that I didn’t get more than my bite.

She added lime and said it was even better. I also think it would be great with a blue cheese vinaigrette, and I am thinking of serving it on Thanksgiving. It’s time to shake things up and start some new traditions anyway. Who needs a stuffing when you have a Hot Cheeto salad?

It would also be a great side dish on a taco night. Hell, I could go crazy and add it to my taco shell with the beef and cheese.

Even if you don’t like spicy dishes, you might like this salad because the cucumber and cilantro chills it a bit. What if you can’t get enough hot foods in your diet. I mean, it’s a no-brainer.

In my opinion, the only downside to Hot Cheeto Salad is that you have to make it in small batches or add the Cheetos right before you eat, because soggy Hot Cheetos are not at all appealing.

If you’re a Hot Cheetos fan and looking to spice up your salad game, try this.

But even if you’ve tried them and you’re not in love (you’re entitled to your bad opinion), you might want to make a little bowl and give everyone in your family a try because trying some recipes. virals is just more fun than trying a regular recipe. Not only is this a fun way to bond with your family, there is a small possibility that you will find a new favorite snack. And who knows, a new Thanksgiving side dish if your family is lucky.
