Tum Pok Pok is a new addition to the Atlanta metro food scene, opened last month on Buford Highway in Chamblee. The concept of the restaurant is built around Thai street food, taking inspiration from the Isan region of Thailand (also known as Northeastern Thailand), which is the largest geographic region in the country. . Chef Taya Denmark is familiar with Isan cuisine; she spent her childhood in Buriram, one of the 20 provinces in the region.
