Fluorinated emulsifier-free emulsion surface sizing agent (FEE) was prepared by emulsifier-free polymerization of hexafluoro-butyl methacrylate (FA), styrene (St) and so on in the presence of fuorinated random amphiphilic polymers (ASRF) copolymerized by FA, St and acrylatic acid.
In this paper, fluorinated random amphiphilic polymer(ASRF) was prepared by using hexafluoro-butyl methacrylate(FA),styrene(St) and butyl acrylate(BA) and used as stabilizer in emulsifier-free polymerization of fluorinated acrylate.
Hexafluoro-butyl methacrylate(FA), industrial products; Styrene(St), Butyl acrylate(BA), Acrylic acid(AA), Sodium hydroxide, Acetone, Sodium bicarbonate(NaHCO3), Potassium peroxydisulfate(KPS), Azodiisobutyronitrile(AIBN), Hydroxyethyl acrylate(HEA), all analytically pure; Oxidized starch(Carboxyl content is 0.65), industrial products; high purity water.

Butyl acrylate (BA), MMA and acrylic acid (AA), commercial grade, were supplied by Beijing Dongfang Chemical Plant, Beijing, China.
In situ encapsulating emulsion polymerization of monomers onto the surface of nano- CaCO3 particles.
After 3 h, the second reaction, the seeded emulsion polymerization of MMA onto the previous particles, was subsequently performed with a dropped method.
Results and discussions The formulations and technology of in-situ emulsion polymerization on the surface of nano-CaCO3.
After many experiments, the optimum formulation of in-situ emulsion polymerization on the surface of nano-CaCO3 was obtained in this paper(see Table 1).

A fluorinated acrylate copolymer emulsion with core-shell structure was synthesized by semi-continuous emulsion polymerization using methyl methacrylate (MMA ), butyl acrylate (BA) as the raw material, hexafluorobutyl methacrylate as fluorinated acrylate monomer, ammonium persulfate (APS) as initiator, sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) and polyoxyethylene octyl phenyl ether (OP-10) as emulsifier and taking water as dispersion medium.

IntroductionSuperabsobent microspheres are the superabsorbent polymers (SAPs) who consist of lightly crosslinked networks of flexible polymer chains by inverse suspension polymerization or inverse emulsion polymerization.
The extreme solution viscosity generated by solution polymerization leads to problems such as the difficulties in stirring and heat transfer, and the resin is obtained as a lump that has to be cut, dried, and pulverized before use. these problems may be overcome by inverse suspension or emulsion polymerization [11-15], the polymerization is unstable and coagulation and flocculation might occur during the inverse suspension polymerization due to large particle size.
For example, acrylic acid (AA)–acrylamide (AM) based superabsorbent polymers (SAP) by inverse suspension polymerization is synthesized [16].

Well-controlled polystyrene-b-poly(n-butyl acrylate)-b-polystyrene (PSt-b-PnBA-b-PSt) triblock copolymers were prepared by RAFT (reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer) emulsion polymerization process.
Acrylic acid (AA), styrene (St) and n-butyl acrylate (nBA) were distilled under reduced pressure prior to use.
The small RAFT agent, 2-((dodecylsulfanyl carbonothioyl) sulfanyl)propanoic acid (DCSPA) was synthesized and prified as described in the reference 8.2.2 Synthesis of Poly(acrylic acid )30-Polystyrene5 MacroRAFT agent.
During 30 min deoxygenation by nitrogen purging, the temperature was increased to 70 oC. 0.012 g of initiator (KPS, dissolved in 3.0 g deionized water) was injected to start the emulsion polymerization. 0.05 g of NaOH was dissolved in 0.5 g deionized water and injected into the reactor 40 min after the starting of the polymerization.

IntroductionStyrene-acrylic emulsion is a product containing styrene and acrylate or functional group acrylate monomers on emulsion polymerization.
Synthesis of Polysiloxane and styrene-butyl methacrylateD4 ring-opening pre-polymerization: Quantitative D4 and a small amount of hydrochloric acid(1-2% content of monomer) were put into the water bath for 1 hour reaction at 60˚C~90˚C.
BMA pre-polymerization: The BMA was pre-polymerized for 30-100min under 60˚C in 15ml centrifuge tube in water bath.
A St-BMA-D4 triplicity particle can be made by the method of concentrated emulsion polymerization.
Conclusions The stable emulsion system is achieved after monomer pre-polymerization in the process which St-BMA concentrated emulsion modified by silicone.
